Vice President Chen Hongliang Meets with Ugandan Consul General Judith in Guangzhou

On March 22nd, Vice President Chen Hongliang met with a delegation of 5 led by Judith Nsababera, Consul General of Uganda in Guangzhou.

Vice President Chen Hongliang welcomed the visit of the Consul General and highlighted the opportunities brought by the development of Hainan Free Trade Port, the functions of Hainan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Hainan International Chamber of Commerce, as well as the major economic and trade activities hosted by them. And we hope to strengthen cooperation in promoting trade and cooperation between Hainan and Uganda, and to assist in the economic development of the two regions.
 
Consul General Judith stated that the 61st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uganda and China this year marks the continuous strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries. The Guangzhou Entebbe route is about to open. China grants zero tariff treatment to 98% of Uganda's tax products. We hope that both sides can strengthen cooperation and promote trade between the two regions, allowing high-quality Ugandan products such as coffee, fruits, and tea to be exported to Hainan. At the same time, we hope that more Hainan enterprises can understand Uganda and promote development cooperation between the two regions in agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism industries.
 
Both sides will organize online meetings between trade promotion agencies and business associations to exchange information, promote personnel exchanges, promote Uganda's trade and investment environment, and reach consensus on tourism resources.

This meeting provides an opportunity and platform for both sides to further deepen economic and trade cooperation.
 
Li Pinggong, Minister of International Liaison Department, Lin Li, and Zheng Yanqi from Hainan International Chamber of Commerce accompanied the attendance.
