In order to further expand the circle of friends among ASEAN countries, we have increased our contacts and exchanges with major counterparts of ASEAN countries. On December 21st, we held a cloud meeting with the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM) and the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).
\
Mr. Cai Wenzhou, Secretary General of NCCIM, first introduced the development history, structure, and important position of the institution. NCCIM is the highest trade organization in Malaysia, a federation of five national trade organizations, including the Malaysian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Malaysian Malaysian Malaysian Chamber of Commerce, the Malaysian Indian Federation of Commerce and Industry, the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Malaysian Manufacturers' Federation. The main objective of the institution is to promote and protect the interests of all companies and individuals engaged in commercial and industrial activities in Malaysia, and to serve as the main platform for the Malaysian private sector to participate in regional and international economic activities. Secretary General Cai stated that he is very pleased to establish a working relationship with the Hainan Council for the Promotion of International Trade and hopes to gain a deeper understanding of Hainan Free Trade Port policies and jointly promote exchanges and cooperation between Malaysian industry and commerce and the business community of Hainan Province. General Secretary General of Malaysia, Datuk Chen Zhenming, introduced the development history of China and Malaysia, and stated that they will further deepen their cooperation on the basis of establishing friendly and cooperative relations with us.
\
Vice President Chen Hongliang briefly introduced our responsibilities, the trade situation between Hainan and Malaysia, the achievements of Hainan's construction of a free trade port, and focused on several major economic and trade activities such as the East Asian Business Forum, which we hosted in 2023. He hopes to further leverage the role of the China ASEAN Business Council and the East Asia Business Council, two multilateral business cooperation mechanisms, to establish a long-term friendly working relationship with NCCIM, and to deepen close cooperation with ACCCIM, jointly building a platform for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Hainan and Malaysia.

Both sides also reached a consensus on establishing daily contact mechanisms between institutions, building economic and trade bridges, promoting economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Hainan and Malaysian enterprises, and conducting in-depth exchanges in strengthening economic and trade information exchange, personnel visits, and other aspects.

This meeting is one of a series of activities in which the Hainan Liaison Office of the China ASEAN Business Council plays its functional role in establishing institutional contacts with major business associations in ASEAN countries. Since the beginning of this year, we have held five online meetings with national business associations from countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia, laying a solid foundation for economic and trade exchanges between Hainan Free Trade Port and ASEAN counterparts.

Li Pinggong from the International Liaison Department, Xing Gucun, Secretary General of the Hainan International Chamber of Commerce, and others attended the online meeting.
