Ambassador Ganlin of Panama to China, Ambassador Yaxin Zhou of Guyana, Ambassador Harlan Henry of Barbados to China and Ambassador Aldo of El Salvador to China promoted their respective countries' economic, trade and investment environment in the promotion of investment environment and business opportunities in Latin America.

 

In the prospect and promotion of local economic and trade cooperation between China and Latin America, Vice President Chen Hongliang of CFNA introduced the situation of Hainan Province, the economic and trade exchanges between Hainan and Latin American countries, the preferential policies of Hainan free trade port, etc. to the participants through video connection, and looked forward to the prospect of trade cooperation between Hainan and Latin American and Caribbean countries. President Chen specially pointed out that affected by the epidemic, the number of tourists received in 2020 decreased by 22% year-on-year compared with 2019. However, under the influence of the new policy of increasing the tax exemption amount of outlying islands to 100000, the tax exemption sales of outlying islands increased by 226% year-on-year. In addition, Hainan will also build a multi-level duty-free shopping system to promote the implementation of the "zero tariff" policy for daily consumer goods of residents on the island. An important goal of Hainan free trade port is to build an international tourism consumption center and establish an important node for the intersection of international and domestic double cycles. In particular, we look forward to the entry of characteristic products from Latin America into Hainan's duty-free system.
