On January 12, 2022, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hainan Sub-council issued the first preferential certificate of origin under the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP) for Hainan CITIC Chemical Co., Ltd. when the company's products were exported to Japan, only one preferential certificate will save about 800 US dollars for the enterprise. According to the Japanese tariff commitment table of RCEP agreement, the product will reduce taxes at the rate of 0.3% per year, obtain zero tariff treatment before 2031, and the sales channel of the company's products exported to Japan will be further consolidated.
In recent years, CCPIT has actively promoted the independent printing service of certificate of origin, and the coverage of certificate handling enterprises has reached more than 70%. The RCEP preferential certificate of origin applied for and issued by the enterprise to Singapore, Thailand, Japan, New Zealand and Australia has been issued electronically. The enterprise can apply for the certificate of origin without leaving home.
In the next step, CCPIT will continue to carry out comprehensive training on commercial certification, strengthen one-to-one assistance and guidance for key enterprises, publicize relevant FTA policies, rules of origin and tariff reduction planning, guide enterprises how to fully enjoy the tariff reduction and overseas market access dividends brought by the free trade agreement, and improve the competitiveness of China's export products in the markets of free trade partners.
